Some Of My Favorite Things

Interior and Fashion Designers have recently been asked “what are some of your favorite things?” or “what can you not live without?” Columns have appeared in some of our monthly magazines and I find them really fun to read.
So, here are some of MY favorite things. Most of these items were found in vintage shops, antique galleries and auction houses. Or, they are treasured family heirlooms. Either way, it is no secret I prefer age and character.

• My 1940’s Maison Jansen black lacquer console table that I found at an antiques shop in Stamford.
• My emerald and diamond ring that was a surprise 45th birthday present bought at Sotheby’s in New York right under my nose!

• 1960’s leopard coat from Doyle’s couture auction
• Boucheron Perfume
Emergen-C a quick energy booster and immune system build up. For those hectic days and any time I travel

• Twice weekly pilates sessions with my trainer Susannah. I have been with her for 8 years.
• Dark chocolate any time of the day, the ultimate mood booster

• Vacations to Nevis; we just can’t get there often enough
• Monthly book club; a special night out with the girls; we make dates flexible to accommodate busy schedules.
• Gucci sage green alligator “Kelly” bag only used on special nights out
• Origins body crème, “A Perfect World” makes my skin feel fabulous and has a delightful light fragrance from white tea that does not conflict with perfume.
